Powercruise a huge event for performance, Mercury Motorsport pulled out the big guns with a super effort in NITTO.

Nitto, the baby of Mercury Motorsport owners Trent and Tess at powercruise 25 at QR rolling out a comfortable 1014rwhp on SUCROGEN E85 / 108 OCTANE and approximately 35psi after having Trent thrash her around the track all weekend. Taking out the highest forced induction 6 cyl class and highest overall! Also showing Tess drive her off the dyno and back to the pits just to show the quality of the build. Big congratulations to the entire Mercury Team for the outstanding workmanship. Much more to come from this awesome car with more boost!

What a great weekend, Fuel Control were invited by HP HEAVEN to be part of the Auto Salon Show at Melbourne Show Grounds.

A BIG congratulations and well done to Nat [owner of Miss R} Miss R had made 193.7kw about 3 weeks ago in SA AutoSalon Round 3 [on pump E85]
At the show we put 30ltrs of Sucrogen E85 in Miss R and without any tuning the car made 197.3kw at the front wheels…Awesome performance.

A few common questions I get about SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85.

1. There had been a lot of misconceptions about E85 heading into the 2009 season, especially about consumption, engine modifications etc, what was the real truth?
When the V8 Supercars switched to SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 fuel, teams made relative minor changes to their engines such as injectors, fuel pumps and engine mapping.  In relation to consumption, this was better than expected.  The E85 blend has an octane of 108 which makes it the highest octane pump fuel available  in the country. This enabled V8 Supercars to make the switch to the renewable fuel and still maintain very similar power and torque to previous year’s cars.

2. There were also stories circulating about significant engine detonations, but that turned out to be a secondary fuel supplier, how did that occur if Fuel Control is the control fuel supplier?
Before the season commenced, there were some concerns originally voiced regarding potential issues.  However, these concerns never to came to fruition. FUEL CONTROL , SUCROGEN Bioethanol and the V8 Teams have reported no engine issues being experienced during the 2009 season due to the change to SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 fuel. Other Motorsport Categories  may have tested with INFERIOR BRANDS of E85. We have customers that have tested or Raced with the INFERIOR BRANDS of E85 and when they switch to SUCROGEN Bioethanol they never look back. Our product has what others don’t ! That’s testing at the highest level not only for performance but also for your Engine protection.

3. What was the real tally of engines that failed because of using E85?
There were NO engine failures due to the use of CSR /SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 fuel.

4. If there were failures from SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85, what were they related to, a lack of knowledge or a mechanical failure?
There were NO engine failures due to the use of CSR/SUCROGEN Bioethanol Ethanol’s E85 fueL.

5. What issues arose from using SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 during the year that were perhaps unforseen at the start of the project, or anything that surprised SUCROGEN Bioethanol
No issues arose from the teams using SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 fuel.  One of the biggest changes noticed by the teams in 2009 is the cleaner burn and smell of the SUCROGEN Bioethanol Premium E85 blend.  Because of the SUCROGEN Bioethanol E85 fuel there was a reported reduction in fumes which has a caused less fatigue for the drivers and the crew.

6. What was SUCROGEN Bioethanol thoughts on the arrangement after the first year?
SUCROGEN Bioethanol is delighted with the arrangements after the first season, and are looking forward to continuing its relationship with V8 Supercars through 2010 and beyond.

7. There is news that CSR is revamping its branding, are there any changes to the fuel itself?
NO ! There is NEW Branding. There will be NO change to the supply, manufacture or distribution of the fuel.  It will continue to be the same high performance reliable fuel that the V8 Supercars have received to date.

8. How closely is V8 Supercars and the teams working with CSR on the fuel?
During the initial stages of implementation, CSR Ethanol, worked closely with TeamVodafone, and Stone Brothers Racing, to look at the development of CSR Ethanol’s E85 fuel for use in the engines of the V8 Supercars.  This work proved to be a great success, and the V8 Supercar teams have continued to actively embrace the change to E85 and the NEW SUCROGEN Bioethanol branding

9. How has the brand awareness of E85 been received from SUCROGEN Bioethanol perspective?
SUCROGEN Bioethanol are pleased with the increasing brand awareness, both on track and within the broader public. SUCROGEN Bioethanol are looking forward to continuing to actively engage the V8 Supercars, the teams and its fans.
